Acquaforte
The etching, an indirect engraving technique, derives its name from the Latin "acquafortis," referring to the acid used: nitric acid. Typically, etchings are numbered from 1 to 100, but I have chosen to create more limited editions to give greater value to the works
Proces
Etching is a metal engraving technique used to create images. The process begins by covering a plate of copper or zinc with an acid-resistant varnish. The artist then engraves the design into the varnish, exposing the underlying metal.
The plate is then immersed in an acid bath, corrodes the exposed areas, creating the engravings. After rinsing, ink is applied to the plate, which is then pressed onto paper to transfer the image.
Moons
The Other Side of the Moon —
Time has always been a significant marker for humanity—shaped by the seasons of sowing and harvesting, the rhythms of the sea, and the experiences of women. The tide symbolizes childbirth and reflects the cycles of life. The waxing, full, and waning phases of the Moon parallel the journey of humanity
